Welcome
Here we go into the brave new world of collaborative knowledge-construction. I mean, courses have been doing this for years, but usually we just do it in the classroom, or just amongst ourselves. and there's no record of a conversation after we have it. Now, there won't be a record of all of our conversations here, by any means. But what there will be here in this space is an ongoing and unfolding record of part of that conversation, and a set of written statements that will serve to spur the classroom discussion onwards and upwards.

A semi-random comment, for those who (like me) are still figuring out the capabilities of the Blog interface: here's a website that googles blogs, if you get my drift.

There are a number of freeware or shareware blogging interface programs that you might investigate. I like ecto, myself, but there are others that I hear are equally good. It won't help for comments, but there are certain advantages to using such a local front-end editor for main posts -- such as the ability to save entries locally, so that they don't get eaten by blogger (which sometimes happens). Caveat scriptor.
Sorry about the previous deleted comment -- typo in the html.
Any restrictions on posts by C of I alumni :-)?
Oh, and blogging virus spreaders, too!
